The Wolfe Awakens – Album Release (2019)

For Immediate Release – June 24, 2019

New album, The Wolfe Awakens, released by the Jim Cutler Jazz Orchestra

The Jim Cutler Jazz Orchestra is pleased to announce the release of their latest album, The Wolfe Awakens, featuring original music by Jim Cutler, Daniel Barry, and Matso Limtiaco.

They return to the stage at the Triple Door on July 7th, 7:30pm, for a Sunday night of great big band jazz to celebrate this release.

The band recently completed a 15 year run of Sunday night performances. During their tenure, the band treated thousands of audience members to original music which continued and extended the tradition of the modern big band. Additionally, the band performed music from many of the classic big bands, including Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich, and Stan Kenton. Featuring top musicians from the Seattle area, this 16 piece ensemble provided the opportunity for hundreds of musicians to perform to appreciative audiences.

Much like their performances, their new album features diverse writing styles that highlight the talented musicians who play in the ensemble, and continues to expand the contemporary big band genre. This release, their third, complements their first two, In Progress (2006) and Gimme Some Sugar, Baby! (2014).
